Although he records from his ultra-silent Scott’s VO Booth at his current home in Phoenix, Arizona, Chris considers the south coast of Massachusetts home and spent his formative years traveling the world as the consummate “army brat.” Following his own 21-year career as a U.S. Army pilot, he ultimately lived in 12 different states and 3 countries and has traveled to many more. While he has studied German and Spanish, he mostly credits his itinerant lifestyle for surrounding him with different cultures, races, and languages that nurtured his ability to quickly adapt to the accents and dialects he incorporates into his character work and narration.
His military background and facility with accents bolster his passion to foster natural and diverse characters in military sci-fi, space operas, thrillers, and mysteries. With a B.S. in Aeronautics and an M.A. in teaching Chris is just as well-suited to non-fiction and historical material. Fun fact – You can still find Chris in the cockpit where he splits his time as an air ambulance helicopter pilot!
A trained screen and voice actor, Chris studied under Nils Osmar at Seattle’s Rekindle School and is a graduate of the Voices for All Master Class program. His voice has been featured in television and radio commercials, video games, documentaries, and an eclectic range of audiobook genres. Listeners have said that Chris “is a delight to listen to” and his voice produces “heartfelt emotions in the listener” and “brings an added immediacy to the story.”
Raised on the wisdom of Mister (not Doctor) Spock, Chris grew up as a semi-closeted nerd in disguise whose love of space, science, and existential philosophy lead others to describe him as an introverted extrovert – meaning, once you get to know him, he’ll talk your ear off about all things “geek.”
Chris has also had a lifelong love-affair with personal fitness. When not recording his next book, you just might cross paths with him on a hiking or biking trail, at the gym, or just out jogging wherever he happens to be. So be on the lookout and say hello!
In the year 2055, a quarter-century after the last firearm-related homicide inside the once-peaceful SafeCities, the unthinkable occurs: the murder of the president of this sprawling metropolis.
Mark, a seemingly unassuming yet highly effective investigator and a potential suspect, is tasked with gathering the immediate evidence. But the investigation takes an unexpected turn, spiralling beyond the confines of his jurisdiction.
What he discovers is a sinister plan to reshape the world, with himself unwittingly cast in the role of a pawn. But in the game of chess that unfolds, every pawn has the potential to evolve into a powerful player, and Mark is no exception.
With the clock ticking and the stakes higher than ever, Mark’s journey will challenge the very foundations of the world he thought he knew.
The Man is a gripping sci-fi thriller that delves deep into the intersection of technology and the human psyche.
